The Maximus Vaccarino
Fund For The Arts
Maximus was an amazing boy with a beautiful, unrestrained, creative mind. From the beginning, he was drawn to build, paint, sculpt, sketch, and simply manifest whatever came to him. It showed its face in everything, from the poems he wrote to the canvases he stretched, and even extended its way into the kitchen in the way that he baked. His talent was only surpassed by the wondrous imagination that fed it. Art provided Max with a way to express himself fully and freely. It was a way in which he could connect and share everything that he was feeling and thinking. It was a source of energy and strength for him. Maximus loved to share his creations, but some things he simply made for himself. We would find them in closets, under beds, or tucked away in drawers. To see what he would come up with never failed to bring us pleasure, but to witness the joy and satisfaction it brought to him, was the true gift.
The Fund For The Arts
Our hope for The Maximus Vaccarino Fund for the Arts is to ensure that more children in our local community have the opportunity to harness the same power and joy that Max found in creativity.
We are incredibly grateful to all who have contributed thus far, and we look forward to creating a lasting impact on the children in our communities, through the arts, for years to come.
Generous Contributors
We continue to be amazed by the beautiful gestures and selfless acts in support of our son. We welcome any and all ideas for celebrating Max and supporting his fund. Please check back periodically and join us for any upcoming events.
Events
Among other things, Maximus loved to paint rocks. It was yet another way he would bring color and joy into the world. In his memory, a beautiful memorial has formed where he lies. An ever-growing collection of painted rocks from friends and family the world over. It is an amazing symbol of love and a great source of strength for our family. Most importantly, it is something we know would bring a coy smile to his beautiful face.
We would love for you to paint one too. We will send you a rock from a beach in Max’s hometown. No rules. No pressure. No rush. When you’re done, simply write sign you name on the back of the rock, and and drop it in the mail. And as always, thank you.

Leave a memory
Maximus was special. We continue to hear stories from so many whose lives he touched in his all-too-short life. We miss him terribly but are comforted by the thought that through his fund, we can help other children in our community access that same passion for the arts that Max had found. In that way, he will continue to impact and enrich the lives of others. Something we know would be sure to bring a smile to his face. If you have a memory of Maximus, please send us a message. We would love to hear from you.
