The night before Max passed, there was an incredible storm at our home in Scituate. We gathered on the front porch and enjoyed the light show together as a family. On the day we said goodbye, as we were walking out of the service, the skies absolutely opened up, again presenting another light show. It only lasted about 10 minutes before the dark skies gave way to a beautiful rainbow just after we laid him to rest. The way we saw it, it was just Max, up there playing with his new toys. Lightning storms, inexplicable downpours, and the rainbows that follow will forever stand as a sign of Maximus letting us know he is with us, and doing it in an ever so subtle way that only he could.
